Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book
5 out of 5 stars.
Kalliope Barlis' "Play Golf Better Faster: I would define ‘The Little Golf Bag Book’ as a real revelation for any golfing enthusiast at any level of the game. The NLP is integrated with easy-to-understand golf strategies which makes this a perfect book that guarantees an improved performance. The concepts discussed by Barlis are quite interesting and the manner used by Barlis to explain them is easy to understand and adopt.
The book is thoughtfully structured into three sections: "Using Your Brain," "Practicing Golf," and "Playing Golf," each building upon the previous one to create an integrated method of skill enhancement. The first section emphasizes the physical aspect of golf and provides instructions on how to utilize the mind to enhance the game. This shift in focus towards attitude rather than technicalities offers a liberating perspective that challenges popular opinion. It underscores the valuable lesson of the significance of mental strength in sports, an aspect that is often overlooked.
The second part focuses on practice routines and provides practical exercises and drills that help in correcting typical technical flaws. The practicality stems from Barlis’ elaborations and clear instructions on how practicing these changes will yield improvements. The last part imparts knowledge to the reader on how to face actual gameplay issues and how to overcome them to be able to play effectively during the actual gameplay.
What makes this book different is the attitude that Barlis uses – a helpful and uplifting one. She believes that the reader is capable of great things and her focus on the aspect of belief and confidence is remarkable. The ability to apply NLP techniques in mental training also sets the publication apart from traditional golfing books and transforms it into a vehicle for improving the self as a whole.
While Play Golf Better Faster: In my opinion, relative to the Little Golf Bag Book is outstanding but some people especially those who are not fully conversant with, neuro-linguistic programming may feel that this aspect of the book is overstressed to an extent. Also, the book is written without a preconception of the reader knowing very little about golf so it may not be very much helpful for a layman in golf. Nevertheless, the aforementioned minor issues do not in any way push away from the overall value and usefulness of the book, so I believe it deserves a 5-star rating.
The book is wonderfully edited without any typos or grammatical errors, overall book is superb.
In conclusion, "Play Golf Better Faster: This book titled “The Little Golf Bag Book” is one of the essential reads for all Golf lovers or those who would like to play golf. It also must be mentioned that Barlis’ combination of both mental and physical preparation, together with her straightforward manner of writing and tips, is rather helpful. That is why this book does justice to receiving just 5-star features.
