Looking Glass Friends by E L Neve is the story of Ellie and Neil. Ellie decided to buy a copy of Atlas Shrugged, a book she enjoyed, for an employee at the local bakery, Neil. The two begin to correspond and develop a deep connection due to their shared love of books, philosophy, and the written word. However, both of them are married, and they have no in-person connection. Will their relationship stay purely as pen pals? What will this relationship do to their marriages? Read Looking Glass Friends to find out.

I loved seeing the relationship between Ellie and Neil develop. Since they had only briefly seen each other in person, their connection was based solely on their correspondence. The two began to fall in love with each other's thoughts and ideas. It was inspiring to see something more than a physical attraction between characters.

I also enjoyed how the two fought to keep their marriages together. Even before meeting each other, neither had a happy life. Neil thought about killing himself on a regular basis, and though she didn't know it, Ellie's husband had been cheating on her for years. The two, when beginning to talk, did not mean to blow up their lives or destroy their marriages. However, their relationship opened their eyes to underlying issues that were already present. I thought the entire book was such an interesting dive into these characters and the nuances of their relationships.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It was exceptionally well-edited; I didn't spot any errors. The vivid language and deep characterization brought Neil and Ellie to life. I can think of nothing that I disliked about this book. Fans of slow-burn romance will appreciate it. It does contain some strong language and sexual content. It is a beautiful novel filled with deep emotions that stayed with me long after I finished the book.
