This book, The Solution is Political Revolution, written by Jillion R. Rising, is a passionate call to action to the people of America to properly address the political and economic challenges oppressing the common man in America. The book begins with a personal introduction from the author, an entrepreneur in the construction industry. The following chapters lead us to focus on problems troubling the United States. Rising covers issues such as corruption in Washington, the growing wealth gap, and government spending. But he didn’t just point out the problems of the government and the economy; he suggested solutions to these problems.

The author reveals the root causes of problems facing the American people, problems such as political corruption, social injustice, and inequality, etc., and explains how they are all interconnected, why it seems like the current government is incapable of solving these problems, and how the government gains from letting these issues continue to reoccur. One particular issue he analyzed that got me thinking was the issue of illegal drugs in America. Could it be that the reason why it seems so difficult to completely eradicate the sales and use of illegal drugs in America is that the government gains greatly from having it in existence, starting from the police officers who make arrests down to lawyers when these drug dealers get charged and to the correctional officers? The government seems to gain a great deal from this illegal drug problem. Could this be why the problem seems persistent?

I like that this book isn’t just a one-sided conversation; the author tries to engage with readers and reminds us that we can create change by speaking up against these corrupt politicians. Rising didn’t just talk about all that is wrong with the government and the economy; he also gave solutions and ideas on how we can do things differently to create change in the political and economic system.

I recommend this book to every American citizen because these issues affect everyone in the United States. I also recommend it to those who like books on politics or want to learn more about American politics. I’m rating this book 5 out of 5 stars because I disliked nothing about it, and it was well-written and exceptionally edited.
