Kalliope Barlis's Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book is a guide meant to help golfers improve their game quickly by focusing on mental techniques. The author of the book first presents the concept of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). NLP is a technique that helps you train your mind to think positively and improve your focus. The author explains how golders can utilize NLP to change their mindset, subsequently improving their performance on the course. She also adds drills like visualizing successful shots and remembering moments when you performed amazingly.

Barlis also offers sensible guidance on how to maximize practice times. She emphasizes the importance of practicing with intention rather than just hitting balls. She offers certain drills to help with various aspects of the game, such as improving your swing, aiming better, and handling difficult shots like hillside or downhill lies. The book also goes over techniques for the real game. Here, Barlis offers tips on how to keep a favorable routine during a round, how to score better, and how to apply the mental tactics to stay focused and positive all through the game.

Many features of this book appeal to me. The simplicity with which this text makes sense appeals most to me. Thanks to the author's straightforward approach, even golf beginners can easily follow along and begin improving immediately. The book's practical exercises are available anywhere because they don't require specific tools. One of the exercises, for instance, advises swinging in your living room merely with a chair and a golf club.

I appreciate how the author emphasizes the mental aspect of golf. While many golf books concentrate just on the physical skills, such as the swing or grip, this book, in addition to that, also teaches how to remain calm, confident, and focused while playing golf. The book distinguishes itself from other golf books by incorporating the concept of NLP to improve your golf performance. I don't dislike any aspect of this book. I noticed only a few errors while reading this book, which shows that it was professionally edited.

For the reasons described above, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to beginners who might feel overwhelmed by all the knowledge they have to learn about playing golf, as well as to golfers of other levels who want to improve their game.
