McFarren’s Soul Seeker is a very captivating read that uniquely blends mystery, the supernatural, the natural world, and crime fiction into one. The story revolves around Benjamin Poe, a firefighter who loses his chance to save his family and marriage to a demon, Crighton the soul collector, who apparently came to take the evil soul of Poe’s son, George, who murdered his colleagues .Poe ends up losing his son and his life due to the demon’s deception. Being divided into two parts, the book delves further into the life of Crighton, Lucifer’s best soul catcher, his true nature, everything he’s been through, and how he was “accidentally” made to develop a bond with an angel, Ariel, making her his soulmate and in turn making him Lucifer’s most wanted rebel. The plot eventually interestingly turns into a mission to save Ariel from Lucifer.

McFarren’s ability to merge the two different parts of the story without it feeling like they’re two different books in one is a very commendable feature of the book. I like how the author was able to develop a unique plot and narrative, how he developed his main characters, and how he made other characters significant enough in the book. I also commend the author’s efforts to blend the natural and supernatural elements of the universe together, making this book a very transfixing experience for me. I was hooked from the very first chapter.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because I did not find anything displeasing about the book. Also, I did not find any errors, which points out that the book was very well edited. The book is a well-written piece that depicts how the seemingly evil forces have a chance to be good and how the good ones can blend with their opposites to create a balance in the universe. This book is a must read for anyone who enjoys a broader spectrum of fantasy because it gives you more than enough to keep your imaginations active.

Soul Seeker masterfully weaves together supernatural elements, crime fiction, and deep moral dilemmas, making for an engaging and unpredictable read. The contrast between Benjamin Poe’s tragic fate and Crighton’s unexpected transformation adds layers of complexity, keeping readers invested in both the human and otherworldly struggles at play.
