The central theme of "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies” by Matthew Tysz and the principal themes include hope, power, and morality. The story is set in a world where different lands face challenges: Voulhire is a world of opportunity and affluence, whereas the main character, Galen, hails from the brutalized Lands of the Princes. When Galen starts his journey toward Voulhire, he is experiencing both positive and negative aspects of progress, which, in fact, point to the darkness always being close, as well as the rays of civilization.

The book shows a rather shining journey between Galen Bray and Rowan through the landscapes of the countryside. The two start talking, and the conversation becomes even more friendly. As they start walking towards the small town of Alcovia, the surrounding landscape changes to a somber and gloomy mining town. Rowan’s and Galen’s interaction feels quite cheerful yet exists with some deep thoughts. Continuing the dramatization of the fateful story, it became known that Hillport has been dismantled, and the people blame Riva Rohavi. Besides, the king seems to be stunned and looking like he is unable to understand the seriousness of the case. Wilhelm understands all the pressure of his actions and the voices that question him. He looks at the beauty of the world here, polluted and corrupted.

The book describes the struggle for power, the problem of the fulfillment of the individual’s aspirations, the problem of individuality in a society of people with supernatural powers, and the problem of the state. The antagonism of peace and chaos can also be observed in characters who have supernatural powers, such as Lord Meldorath, who uses his abilities to manipulate occurrences, which is in between justice and morality. Finally, the book presents a society in which people need to adjust to the given moral issues and, at the same time, search for their position in the existing society.

I would give "We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies” 5 out of 5 stars as it masters the components of the world, plot, and characters. It combines political conspiracy with magic and personal transformation, which retains the reader’s interest. What is more, it is perfect for fantasy and action lovers. If you are keen on the blending of the realistic and the fantastic, the politics, magic, and tropes of character development, this book is for you. People who enjoy particular characters and lots of action will also find the need for comics fulfilling. Overall, I have not found any dislikes in this book, and also, its editing is flawless.
