Review of The Transformation of a Wildflower
“The Transformation of a Wildflower,” written by Chrissy Kanne, is a book that describes some important lessons that the author learned throughout her experiences in life. As she searched for her purpose in life, she found answers to some of the questions she had been wondering about, and with these new lessons, she moved on to the next chapter of life, ready for all new adventures, which included eventual mortality.
One of the most prominent lessons I learned from this book was the one about doing what inspires you in life. The author reminds readers that understanding this is what will help bring balance in a person’s life, and I couldn’t agree more. There was a story given here about the Kanne’s mother, who really loved tending to her garden. While growing up, her mother’s garden was such a beautiful sight that one would really see the amount of effort put into creating it from the first glance. In this case, this work brought happiness and balance to her mother’s life. I agree with the concept that once a person can find that part of life that would bring them such happiness, they will come to appreciate life even more.
The fact that it is important for a person to know and value their self-worth and not constantly seek approval from other third parties was another aspect of this book that stuck with me while I was reading. There would always be people who would criticize every aspect of a person’s life, and it is going to be impossible to make everyone happy. The realization of this truth would lead a person to truly find a source of happiness and contentment that comes from within, because that would be the most genuine form of happiness. The audition story in this book showed how the author eventually learned that the only way you can be good enough is when the little voice within you is content and unapologetic of its choices despite all the outside interferences. The stone cold nature of auditions, especially in the entertainment industry, would not be merciful to a person who always seeks outside validation. I loved the way this point was driven through the words of this book.
The eventual unveiling of the author’s life story from when she was a little girl was in such a way that it expressed the important points. Truly, this author has a gift of storytelling while sprinkling critical, important messages within. I enjoyed learning about the various different flowers the book introduced while trying to pass a point across in relation to what that flower represented. It was truly remarkable to see the plethora of knowledge this author had about flowers because I enjoyed learning the things about them that I never knew beforehand. I have nothing that I found as a negative aspect of this book, and I rate it 5 out of 5 stars because I really enjoyed it and the numerous positive aspects added to its appeal. I recommend this to people who would like to learn from this author’s experiences and make better decisions in their lives.
