Have you read a book that examines family issues related to divorce and the custody of children? A story that clinically explained the details and cause of family separation and the repercussions of reckless acts and choices? Do you want to understand the reward of planning early, containing your emotions, and caring for child support? "Deceit" by Vernon Baumrind will help you understand the hidden intricacies of family issues.

"Deceit" by Vernon Baumrind starts by introducing a couple. The story is told in the first person pronoun, meaning that the author is talking about himself and his wife, Linda. The wife is getting tired of the relationship. His wife was cheating on him with their doctor, Dr. Ewing. When he finds out, it devastates him, so he goes on to obtain a telephone, which he will use to tap into the conversations of his wife and Dr. Ewing.

The circumstances became heated up as the two cheating spouses were engaging in unsolicited sexual activities in the office, each other's family house, and in public places. As it continued, Baumrind patiently listened to the tapped telephone, hired a detective to document all their activities, and hired an attorney to advise him on the proper legal action. On January 2nd, 1979, he fired a divorce and filed a suit against Ewing. What is the outcome of the suit? Will he get the custody of the children? What will be the faith of Linda? Readers will find out from the book.

I enjoyed the lessons and preparations in the book. It is insightful and educational. I like the author's writing style. The sincerity of the author is a positive aspect of the book. I do not dislike anything in the book. The sexual content will make the book unsuitable for children. The editing is excellent.

I would rate the book 5 out of 5 stars because there are no negative aspects, the narration is solid, the author is sincere in every aspect, and the educational content is excellent. I recommend it to adults and families.
