The Book

Storm turned into sky
As I fell into the book
And it clung to me as fiercely
As I clung to it
Wrapping itself in the security of being known

Walls turned into forest
As I ran into the book
They were closing in
And I found it just in time
To stop from being crushed

Change turned into comfort
As I slipped into the book
A brief respite from the journey
It had shown me I had to take
Promising a happy ending

Laughter turned to laughter
As I danced into the book
No longer a desperate lifeline
But rather, an old friend
