Review of Pastor B and the Haunted Church
Pastor Alan Burke, regularly called Pastor B, is about to retire after serving in Christendom for over 40 years, and his final assignment in the Lord's service is to River Heights Church. Pastor B gets to the church and realizes that though the church represents a great historical legacy in the community, it is attributed to eerie tales, which fuel rumors of hauntings and ghost stories. Despite the superstitions, he is determined to stand by biblical truths and community renewal to establish love, understanding, and forgiveness to turn it around.
The pastor, with his loving wife Sharon, thus embarked on rebuilding love, trust, and forgiveness among the people. He proved to achieve these with his handy support to George Mountbatten Reed when dying in the hospital with no one paying much attention to him due to his past way of life. His presence in the hospital to bless him triggers a chain of events that brings George's son to donate a huge amount of money to a trust fund that is meant to renovate the church.
However, in the process of rebuilding the church, various issues of mistrust, financial misappropriation, negligence, and marital issues will emerge among the worshippers, board members, and the community at large. Will Pastor B be able to achieve his divine ambition for the church before he retires?
Pastor B and the Haunted Church: A Christian Mystery Suspense by Dorothy May Mercer is a book that is just right for everyone, irrespective of who you are or where you are coming from. The story is simple, straightforward, educative, thought-provoking, and a simple guide to moving close to God. The characters are extremely relatable to all, while the action blends well with the themes of soul-winning, faith, forgiveness, love, unity, understanding, and trust. The plot unravels steadily for proper understanding while the content’s formatting is very well done. The core message of the book, which is moving closer to God irrespective of your past and building a core network of believers through love, understanding, and togetherness, will resonate soundly with both believers and unbelievers.
This book is professionally edited, and it deserves to be rated 5 out of 5 stars because I found nothing to dislike about it. I find the book extremely relatable to me because it allows me to understand that I am just a mortal, and no matter my sins and misconceptions about life, God is forever waiting for me with open arms.
I will recommend Pastor B and the Haunted Church: A Christian Mystery Suspense for adult Christians who appreciate faith-based stories of inspirational fiction and light mystery.
