Review of Minimum Wage Millionaire (Version 1, released July 28th 2025)
Minimum Wage Millionaire by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is a quick and easy read that I would recommend to everyone. Hughes lays out a step-by-step system to make anyone a guaranteed millionaire. Each chapter is a simple rule that builds on the one before it. Examples and charts illustrate how this can work for anyone, even if they are making minimum wage. You don’t have to be making good money to start implementing smart money habits and investing.
By teaching the principles of strong investments and savvy spending while giving a formula that gets you to a million, Hughes shows that the math is simple—following the rules to make it happen is up to you. If you follow each of the rules exactly, you will be a millionaire within a set timeline. Hughes literally guarantees it at the back of the book. A lot of the main principles are reminiscent of Dave Ramsey’s teachings, like having six months’ worth of expenses in liquid assets before fully focusing on building wealth through investment and not spending over 70% of your income on basic necessities. Others are more general, like the rule of being honest, whether with yourself or in your financial dealings. The rule about giving it your all at work to make yourself an eligible candidate for raises and promotions I found interesting. It encourages you to work towards your goals to the best of your ability, instead of coasting along. This is not a book for those looking to get rich quickly without putting in the work. It is for those looking to put the effort in now to earn the reward later. The more you put towards your goals now, the sooner you will get there.
I am giving this book a 5 out of 5. The only critique I have is regarding the statements telling the reader to buy the book for every young person they know. They were excessive and, by the third time, off-putting. I understand the author’s desire to make more money off of the book, but after the first mention of buying for everyone you know, the wording could have been more along the lines of “share these principles/this book” or “pass this on” to have been less pushy. That being said, it wasn’t enough of a bother to be worth taking points away from this wonderful book. With inconsistent but objectively perfect editing, an engaging writing style, and motivational concepts, anyone would get something out of this book. I certainly did.
