In the upper East side of New York City lays the preconceived notion of rich, upper-class, hustle and bustle of the dwellers of the city. A young woman, Calder Benedict, is a strong independent woman getting what she wants done to help those she can through her work. That was all she needed before she met mister tall, dark, and maybe not so mysterious Adam Stone. Calder is pulled to Adam and she has no idea how or why he is any different from other men in her life. Relying on his honest natural he thinks he can break through to her heart, but can he get past the Benedict sisters quartet or will he join the ranks?

One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams has a way with her writing to be in the now of how everyone likes to read but make it uniquely her own. The chapters or little paragraphs of switching in between characters and their view was wonderfully put together. The characters were portrayed as everyday personas not that everyone can relate to ‘old money’ versus ‘new money’ references or attitudes but the way they were more receptive to a situation that could mean something completely different than jumping to the worst conclusion.

The focus of the book was Calder and Adam even though there were glimpses and fascinating details given on the other family members and maybe even friends and close acquaintances that pull you in to want to move through the whole series just to know who is with who? Does anyone have children at the end of the series? Will that mother of the Benedict quartet ever change her ways? Even with all that craziness, no one can deny swooning over Adam and his ability to blunder his words and thoughts when it comes to Calder.

I loved how while reading the back and forth conversation there was a different use or phrase that gave away the slightest hint of an accent even though I was read I could picture them in New York when Adam leans in to kiss Calder while some passerby bumped his should thoroughly dissolving the moment between the two. Not necessarily something I disliked it was strange and refreshing the use of the unusual words such as; circumspect.

I would rate this book 4 out of 4, I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance even if this one is not the usual twist and turns of other books they have read. But as someone whose read my fair share of romances know there is no discriminating against different styles of a story that makes you swoon and look up to see if you have a man just like Adam setting a standard for men to start acting goofy but hot and smoldering all at the same time.

I did like the way that the Four Benedict sisters did not carry the persona of the typical rich girls that I believe made this book more enjoyable to read.

I do like how the paragraphs bounced in between the sisters mostly but kept light and stayed focused on the story. I also like the way that the sisters where so down to earth that made this book an even more interesting read.
