Eat Pray Love?

Post by Dmarie1986 »

I usually don't follow book trends, I read whats hidden in the corner rather than displays. Everyone was going on about Eat Pray Love being this incredible book, but of course they've all seen the movie first. Personally, I've had the book for two weeks and couldn't bring myself to open it. When I did I finally read the first three pages and I feel as though I've read it before, it seems cliche. I really cannot bring myself to open this book, I'm not sure I will get anything out of it.
Has anyone read it? What have you learned by it, or have been inspired to do? If there is something coming out of it I may take a chance.

I read it but I wasn't too impressed. I don't think it is a big loss to skip it.

Entirely skippable in my opinion.

There's another thread on the same book further down the page.

Carusmm I've been watching your posts on a few different threads on this board and I've noticed several things.

1. You seem to fancy yourself as some kind of intellectual.

2. Your posts show no evidence to support the idea that you actually are particularly intellectual.

A few tips for you:

* Ranting just makes you look crazy.
* Paragraphs were invented for a reason - I suggest you google if you aren't familiar with the concept.
* When you've written a post read over it and ask yourself the question 'did I have any point?' if the answer is no then I suggest you take full advantage of the delete key.
* If you want to try and pretend to be some kind of intellectual you might at least attain a grasp of when and how to use apostrophes and how to spell words such as 'philosophy'.
* Projection is bad. If you hate women why not just say so, no need to try and pin your opinion.

Oops. Now I look crazy because the message I was replying too has been deleted. Such a shame.

Oh I'm sorry Lennoc! After deep consideration between the Moderators we're realized, as you too apparently, that Carusmm is being inappropriate and is therefore being deleted. You dont look crazy, love, so dont worry. It will only let future people know that we're serious when we say to " watch yourself!"
If it will help... EVERYONE reading this post: Lennoc is the sanest person here. At the moment.
Sorry for the confusion and for butting in on the thread.
