The Witch of Endor: Vampires by R. K. Wheeler is a supernatural story about Lilith, the female leader of the vampires. It centers on her journey after she became a vampire and a mother. The reader is led through by a series of flashbacks to set the stage for the current situation. I recommend this one to anyone who loves good vampire read because they will not be disappointed.

The story opens as Lilith awakes in a strange place and it is daylight. She is a vampire and should be asleep. She feels horrible and can't remember how she got to where she is or why she is awake. Suddenly, her memories start flooding in and she looks for her child. We begin to see the flashbacks of a fire on a ship and she has been shipwrecked. As the flashbacks continue, we learn that she is separated from her lover, Lamech, and that she has a daughter named Medusa.

Lamech is found by a ruthless vampire who wants nothing more than to destroy all other covens except for his. He has become so strong he walks in the light. His name is Maldivar and he wants Lamech to pay for having turned him so many years before. Will Maldivar succeed? Will Lilith and Lamech meet again?

I really liked this book a lot. The pace kept moving steadily ahead while laying the backstory at the same time as to how Lilith and Lamech came to be. Lilith keeps Lamech grounded and refuses to feed from flesh. Though she soon realizes that live feeds are better for her. They try to only feed off of people who have been really bad or do not continue to be contributors to the good side of society. Lilith chose to become a vampire but Lamech was cursed to become the first one. You really start to invest yourself in these characters and feel as if you are right there with them. There was not anything to dislike except for having so many flashbacks. Sometimes it got confusing as to whether something was current or in the past.

Though there is a little confusion with all the flashbacks, I really liked this one and had no problem reading it. I only noticed one grammatical error and it didn't really disrupt the flow at all. I give The Witch of Endor: Vampires a 4 out of 4 stars. If you love a good vampire read, then come take a bite out of this one.
