[Following is a volunteer review of "One Way or Another" by Mary J. Williams.]

[rbc=4]id313635-125[/rbc]One Way or Another is a romantic novel, the first book in the series "The Sisters Quartet". The four books in the series each tells the stories of the sisters Andi, Bryce, Calder, and Destry.

Their beautiful mother Billie Benedict, whose only concern is for herself and her search for her next husband. Each of the sisters having a different father, all being dysfunctional. Even the twins Bryce and Calder who share a womb, but not a father. The only stable parental figure the sisters have in thier lives is the housekeeper, Mrs. Finch. Thier mother and unpredictable fathers left them feeling worn, generally leaving them to develop a deep-seated distrust in men.

This book is the first installment of the series, it tells the story of Calder Benedict. She wants to be free of the stereotypical "Just another rich girl with not enough to do". She uses that to push her to build a multi-million dollar charity organization "Erica's Angels" from the ground up. She just wants to help as many people as she can. Calder focus' on her organization and charity ball she is planning, while in the meantime she meets Adam Stone, her opposite, the tall, brown haired, beautiful blue eyed man, he is gentleman. The moment thier eyes meet, opposites attract, and sparks fly. Calder being distrustful of men, Adam has to try hard to gain her trust and show her he is worthy. However, Calder being the caring type, helps Adam with his own obstacles. The couple haft to overcome thier own issues while trying to solve a bit of a mystery. Against all odds, they fall head over heels for each other. The author tells the story through a third person narrative. Calder is beautiful and successful, while Adam knows how to treat a lady right, being such a gentleman. However, he is a good person who is a true friend. he is charming and dependable, which is exactly what Calder needs.

I love how the book is a bit of a romantic mystery. I feel while reading this book I can see in my mind the story unfold as if watching a Hallmark movie. I love how the author tells how the bond between the sisters is unbreakable. The reader becomes aware of each characteristic of the four girls. Calder is the caring one, Bryce with her wild imagination, Destry the fiery and adventurous one, and Andi the confident one. I like the way the author explains the emotional connection and bond between Calder and her twin sister Bryce. It becomes perceived the sister are all a "force of nature". In the Prologue, Williams characterizes the story so well displaying how well the love and bond between sisters can be unbreakable.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. One Way or Another is a perfect story of romance with a twist of mystery. The ending is told so well, it leaves the reader so eager to continue the series in the next books. I would recommend this great love story to anyone who has a passion for a wonderful romantic and intimate love story.
