The house of night series by P.C. Cast

If you haven't read this series then you should. So far, I've read 7 books in the series and found out that theres going to be a total of 12 books. Vampires seem to be my favorite books to read right now. This series has surprised me as I've read each book so far. There's 9 books out so far. I read many different books because I post them on my blog.
If anyone has read the series I'd like to here what you thought about it.
When a good book captures me then, I know I've found happiness.

I read the first three books of this series and kind of lost interest. The storyline is fairly interesting, but the POV is pretty shallow most of the time, if I remember correctly. The main character does a lot of things that make me want to slap her silly, and it just ends up being incredibly aggravating as opposed to enjoyable. Also, I just don't really find the portrayal of vampires in this world very exciting.

I'm torn about those books. I am not overly fond of them, mainly because the protagonist is really one hell of a Mary Sue (I mean, what *can't* she do and who *isn't* in love with her?) and she annoys the hell out of me. The story is pretty predictable and nothing much happens in each of the books - most just take a few days and then you have to wait for months for the next one to come out and while there are references to stuff that has been going on just recently (like one of the characters mentioning that they watched Game of Thrones), when the year of the story should still be around 2007/2008.

I started to enjoy the books much more when the changes of perspectives started, so we didn't just get the first person view of the protagonist for everything but also a third-person narrative focussed on other characters.

I have a lot more things that bother me about those books, but at the same time, every time I finished one, I am eager to read the next one. They always leave me slightly disappointed but still wanting more.

I have read 8 books of this series. The story line and the concept is interesting( It's like a combination of harry potter and twilight with a twist) even thou the prontagonist(zoey) is pretty annoying. But this book will leave you wanting more. It's a very good book.
