Book Page Layout

Post by Denv12 »

As I'm writing a book I wanted to make sure each page wasnt filled with text. I want each page to have one blank line after every 2 to 3 paragraphs. Over the years I have learnt that this way is a lot better. It makes the book more reader friendly. I write like that in my email, snail mail, documents, etc. I have found that some people dont mind that layout.

When I read books that have a similar layout I find the books easier to read.It gives the reader a moment to pause before moving on. My book also has a blank line between one topic and the next topic too. I'm writing a dating book on how to find find someone to love. There's a lot of topics I've covered. As I read through the book at times I'm glad I use the layout. It looks a lot better. I know I can't please everyone who reads books, but,at least I can please some people.

When you write a book what do you do?

Thanks.

While working on my novels I don't have any gaps unless I am doing a scene change mid chapter. I'll then use a space before and after three asterisks. I'm also a fiction writer, and extra gaps tend to interrupt the flow of reading. For non fiction books, I do believe extra spaces between paragraphs help.

When writing reviews for Goodreads and LibraryThing, I will do spaces between each paragraph.
