A Thousand Seeds of Joy by Ananda Karunesh is an inspiring, new age, non-fiction book. Ananda does a wonderful job setting up the preface and prologue of this title. It is book one of the planned Ascended Goddess Series. The book consists of author Ananda Karunesh detailing conversations she has had with Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati. This is done through meditations which allowed her to speak with these Goddesses. I had learned about these two Goddesses during a religion class this past semester so was intrigued by this book immediately.

The book is largely about spiritual awakening and is uplifting, inspirational, and motivational. It is split into 8 total sections. Sections 1-7 are displayed in an interview format where Ananda is asking questions of the Goddesses and then telling us their response under each question. She does a great job with her questions and picks useful follow-up questions to ask. I found her asking questions that I had when reading the initial answers. This helped me feel more connected to the book and the answers given.

I enjoyed the layout of this book the most. The interview style created a read that felt like I was sitting right next to them while these conversations were happening. I also found the progression of topics to be very sensible. The sections are: Part 1: The Joy of a New Creation, Part 2: The Truth about Eve, Mary, and Sita, Part 3: Chakras and the Law of Attraction in Ramayana, Part 4: The Feminine Wisdom of Mahabharata, Part 5: The Secrets of a Soul Tribe, Part 6: Self-Transformation with joy, Part 7: The Path of Joy, and Part 8: Guided Meditation.

I really liked how you could read this book in any order. This meaning, that since the topics of discussion are well laid out, a reader can skip to the topics that most interest them. I would recommend reading the book in entirety if you're able. I would recommend this book to those who are open-minded and enjoy religious novels. Also, anyone studying different cultures and their ideas would find this to be a useful read. If you are not looking for new ways of thinking this might not be the book for you.

Overall, I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is because it was a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed the topics and information provided in this book. I look forward to seeing how this Ascended Goddess Series progresses. The book also seemed to be very well edited. A few mistakes, but they didn’t affect my understanding of the content. The 4-star rating is also because I enjoyed hearing stories that were female centered.
