1. It makes me feel that I've gone to different places, met different people and enjoyed new environment.
2. I get busy and occupied instead of being idle and not thinking straight.

1) To escape. I love being transported to another time or place. I love that feeling of seeing or doing or experiencing something different.
2) To see things from a different perspective. I love a book that makes me think and shows me things from other people's perspectives.

I love how reading allows me to simply forget about all my troubles. I think it's the only activity I can do without having a thousand other things going through my head. When I'm reading, it's just me and the characters. No one else. I feel as though everything around me disappears and I'm...transported into another realm. Needless to say, I often find myself disappointed when I realise the world around me hasn't magically transformed when I finally put down the book.
