Almost finished with Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. I wasn't sure about this one, but I gave it a chance and so far, not too bad.

More than half way through "First They Killed My Father" by Loung Ung
One child's experience of the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia. Such extraordinary cruelty and sadism. A deeply upsetting book but compulsive reading none the less.

Right now, I m reading Kathryn Stockett's The Help. I've already read from cover to cover and have started once again. It was an intense read with superior character development and a passionate story line that made it very difficult to put down. A Wonderful book.

I've been wanting to read The Help. It's one of the books on my list to read next. So judging by your comment, I assume you recommend it?

Right now I'm reading Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry.
It's an "old western" novel that takes places in my beloved Texas
It was kind of dragging for me in the beginning but now it's picking up.

A Place of Execution by Val McDermid

Not too bad. It's certainly keeping my interest. I may check out some of her other novels at a later date.

I'm half-way through The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory.

After reading The Other Boleyn Girl, I had to seek out more of her books; and I love this one almost just as much!

I am reading book two of the Fourth Realm Trilogy by John Twelve Hawks. I googled John Twelve Hawks and found that that is a pseudonym, no one knows who he is, except for speculation. Very curious.

I liked the first book, but the writing gets a bit sloppy in the second book (it wasn't so great in the first book, but tolerable). Whoever he is he has intriguing ideas.

I will say that the subject matter is compelling and very scary. It could be true and it could becoming true. Has anyone read any of these stories? I would be interested in what others might think.

I would recommend these books just for a "watch out", and it is a fun read.
