I don't eat anything while I read but I will drink a cup of tea, hot chocolate, apple cider or sometimes water. It doesn't matter what I'm reading though.

And I read during my cooking lulls like when waiting for the water to boil or during the actual cooking process. When I was little I used to sit on the counter with my book and cook giant batches of soup from scratch. I could be in the kitchen for hours and not notice because I was reading. My mom used to think I wasn't paying enough attention to the stove and worried I'd set the whole house on fire (I only did that once, I swear)
