I love to eat rice with lentils. You get a more balanced vegetarian meal that way, with carbs and proteins. I like to make some sort of veggie/lentil medley and serve that over freshly cooked rice

Based on my personal preferences, I would choose Szechuan Chicken and Creamy Garlic Herb Chicken as my two favorite dishes to eat with white rice.

I mostly have it with my stews and every single thing meaty and heavy. The people I live with consider it as a staple that does not make them full. But I love it

Beaches and sunshine wrote: 01 Jul 2019, 07:16 Rice seems to be an essential part of a meal course for alot of people, but it could be kinda boring to eat it alone .here are a few suggestions for how you could eat rice:
1.keep it simple and try boil rice with cooked pulses and some parsley.
2.fry the boiled rice in a couple of tablespoons of oil and add boiled peas or chickpeas in it.
3.or try a quick and easy rice dessert by adding milk and sugar in some boiled rice.
So how do you eat your rice?
Thanks for the recipe mate. I appreciate

honeybear_11001 wrote: 19 Mar 2022, 06:42 Those recipes are a bit outside if my comfort zone. I like rice with common and tastier things like beef stew, liver, cabbage, pilau, egg curry, chicken curry and salads on the side. Very tasty.
Yep. This is as simple as it can go. Rice and stew for life

WhiteLotus wrote: 01 Jul 2019, 08:47 As a main dish? I have it with tuco sauce and cheese, or with tuna, or tuna and an assortment of vegetables, or just the vegetables.
As a side dish, I usually don't add much more than oil or butter and maybe some chopped veggies, depending on what the main dish is.
This sounds delicious mate. I'll go check it out.

Corina Elena wrote: 11 Jul 2019, 07:34 Best combination ever: rice and a very easy chickpea recipe. I don't know the exact measurements, unfortunately, because I just eyeball the measurements, but it doesn't really matter.
1 garlic clove chopped up
one tiny piece of ginger root (maybe the size of 2 garlic cloves)
*roast them in a pan with a little bit of olive oil until they turn brown
add one can of cooked chickpeas
add 1 cup of vegetable broth and 1/2 cup of vegetable milk (coconut milk is my favorite)
*when everything starts to boil, add one-two tablespoons of flour, and be careful to add little by little and mix in the meantime so it doesn't form lumps.
Stir until the sauce thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste and voila! You can pour it over your rice. Enjoy while it's hot!
Thanks for the recipe elena
