Yes, that is true, the author did a good job. I especially liked the fact, that all women had different background and age, but it didn't stop them from being such good friends.

That is a good point. That is pretty much how it works in real life, too. Sadly, in real life experiences (especially the bad ones) can sometimes also break relationships.
