This book initially tells that the author (Susan) had an illness. Her husband (Bruce) always accompanied her, took care of his wife and gave his best. Until finally the wife recovered from her illness and months later, they celebrated a party at their home which they called "Celebration of Life" party. They invited family, closest relatives, friends they loved as well as people who had helped her recover. Very relieved, happy, no need to worry until everything changed.

Nobody hopes to live with any illness. But the illness cannot be avoided. And can come at any time to anyone, without exception, including harmonious husband and wife as in this book. Dying Well: Our Journey of Love and Loss by Susan Ducharme Hoben, tells how Susan and Bruce must deal with cancer as Bruce did. Which Bruce lived a healthy life, so this was shocking news for them and for those who knew Bruce. Even though they live with this sad news, they still live their lives doing their best and enjoying life as long as they have each other.

By telling the readers how sweet they first met until live together for forty-six years full of peace and intimate. This book also tells us what a beautiful marriage looks like. Cheerful, caring for each other, teasing and supporting each other. Reading this book feels like we know them and are with them to experience their struggles through the difficult times of life.

This book is very light to read because it is arranged in words that are easy to understand and give us a real perspective on what people feel and do when they struggle with cancer. This story is a real, time, place and also all characters and with various problems were told clearly. Without doubt in this heartwarming story, you will feel sad, worried, happy, hopeful, and love. Also, the raw jokes from the author, it makes me laugh.

What I like about this book is that it is edited perfectly for readers. By providing a clear depiction of the story, showing emotions, but still giving a sense of happiness and hope, it is worth Dying Well: Our Journey of Love and Loss by Susan Ducharme Hoben gets 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book. This book is suitable for young adults or mature readers who like to read drama books. I realized that this book inspired me to always be kind to our loved ones and also to provide motivation.
