Review of Ela Green and the Kingdom of Abud
Ela Green and the Kingdom of Abud by Sylvia Greif is an engaging book that would keep you glued from the beginning till the end. The book is under the young adult genre and it involves the life of a young teenage girl. Ela Green is a young fourteen-year-old girl who lives in Switzerland with her mother and her Uncle. The book starts with Ela's discovery of a bracelet and a scroll in her grandmother's desk. The bracelet is the passage into a different world that is not bound by time. The bracelet has been passed down the bloodline of Archibald's family, and it has finally located Ela. Ela decides to reach out to someone, but she can not meet her mother because she thinks that Ela is delusional. Ela finally decides to meet her uncle, Archibald, and he is quite surprised at how she was able to find the hidden secret. After the summer vacation, she returns to Waldegg boarding school and she encounters a lot of irregularities. Ela gets to know that she is not the only one who knows about the bracelet. Will she be able to make the right decisions? Will she be able to find the place that the bracelet leads to?
Ela Green and the Kingdom of Abud is an intriguing book with a fascinating storyline. Sylvia Greif wrote this wonderful piece in the third-person narrative. It involves the adventures of young Ela and the challenges that she encounters as she strives to accomplish her mission. The book contains 237 pages. It is not divided into chapters but it has unique headings that give the reader an idea of what to expect while reading.
Ela Green is a nice character. She is unique and intelligent. The author did a good job in the characterization of the story. I love how Sylvia switched between the present and the past. She did a good job of trying to show the reader how the bracelet came to be. I love the pace with which the book was written, and it is filled with suspense.
I enjoyed every aspect of the book. Ela's determination was quite impressive, and it made the book more captivating. This book seems like it would have a sequel because of the way the author ended the story, and I cannot wait to read it. Sincerely, there was nothing negative about this adventurous story.
This book was well-written. It was professionally edited, but I noticed two spelling errors in the book. The errors did not dampen my flow with this piece of adventure.
I recommend this novel specifically to every young adult. It is necessary to know that it is not quite easy being a teenager. It is filled with urges, adventures, challenges, and joy. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars due to the points mentioned above.
