Randy the Irresistible by S M Goodier is a fictional story of a man named Randy. As the title suggests, Randy is pretty irresistible and is great at getting his way. The book is extremely humorous and keeps the reader engaged. The life of a young bachelor is displayed accurately by the author. Randy decides to drop out of school and all he wants to do is move to London. He believes that life is meant to be wasted partying and never settling down. Randy’s good looks and ability to talk it up with just about anyone helps him find a job as a salesman. His talents make him indispensable to his employers. These qualities are also greatly admired by the ladies. The downfall to Randy’s behavior is his "ditch and move on" attitude. This attitude portrays Randy as a mere one-night stand.

Randy’s life is very relatable to most of the young people of this generation. Everyone is looking for an easy way out with the least amount of commitment. Randy is the prime example of this. He has trouble committing to relationships and even to friendships. When he gets into a fix, Randy realizes the importance of maintaining strong relationships.

Goodier described some of the major drawbacks of this generation humorously. Randy’s ability to attract women to the extent that he has to run away at times is a major cause for laughter. He also finds many issues with just about anyone and doesn’t like committing to twelve-month rent contracts. To avoid such situations, he constantly has to pack up and leave at very short notice.

Another thing I liked about this book is how it ends with Randy coming to his senses. It shows that there is hope for people of this generation. Randy also has a great relationship with his family. His father is very cool with him and helps him out with all his problems. Randy’s brother also helps him out whenever he is in trouble. His sister is the one that finally talks some sense into him. Their bond is weird but that is how all families are.

I rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. There was nothing I didn’t like about this book. Once you start reading this book, it is hard to put it down. It was well edited as I found no errors while reading. I would recommend this book to every young bachelor/bachelorette. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
