Everybody wants happiness in work and personal lives. But at times, we get confused on how best to make it happen. From drift to shift: how change brings true meaning and happiness to your work and life by Jody b. miller is a non-fiction book. It is a collection of thoughts and stories of incredible people who experience significant changes in their lives just to become who they are meant to be. All these people have something in common which is making a shift.

It is a well-written book that is divided into sections and the sections subdivided into chapters. The chapters contain discussions with the reader and narration of well-related stories of the reasons for a shift, When and how to make the shift. And finally what happens after making the shift. The author's career position puts her in direct link with the people whose stories are being told. So, she is able to present their stories in a more personal way, connecting well with the readers.

With her smart writing, she is able to narrate how Serita who was brought up in the foster care had to play tough so as to survive. Emily had to go through series of operations despite being told she might not have a child, but she had to survive. Jody took a trip to the Amazon rainforest believing that she needed to make a shift in her life, and she was healed. Andy made a shift when had an accident as a skydiver. He went through surgical operation twenty-five times just to save his arm and his life. Jerry attempted to kill himself twice due to depression. He made his shift when he decided to give back to himself. So, he quit his job. Darren made shifts several times in his life because he had to discover the best way to adapt to his condition. Sloan is a woman of faith who made her shift gradually with prayers. She became a mother and a life coach even when life dealt her a blow.

The book is divided into sections and chapters making the stories to be well-connected. The writing style is easy to read. I like the way the author relates each story. The book is free of typo and grammatical error. I believe the editing is excellent. I rate the book 4 out of 4 of four stars because of these. What I like the most about the book is how the resources for each section is separated in an organised way. There is nothing I dislike about the book. I think it is close to perfect.

I recommend the book to anyone who needs self-help book. Or wants to make changes so as to be happy.
