The author of this book has done a great job writing it. She is not an author but in the medical field. However, early in 2022, she devised a plan to write something from the news on each day of the year. What started as a casual journaling habit makes Susan realize that her content can be converted to a book, which is the finished product we have here today. I liked a lot about this book, as it captures the essence of journaling. From the 20th of January to the 31st of December, the book tells major stories from across the news. However, some days are typically missing, perhaps due to a lack of content. 

I like how the book doesn't fail to mention key aspects of the COVID vaccinations. As sensitive as the topic, the author writes about her insights gained from the news and makes a nice analysis of the subject. Throughout the book, other key political aspects are discussed, from the Parliament of England to the economics of Russia. The author brings content that is meant to keep the reader engaged. My favorite month in the book is the month of October, as it brings so much content and political tension. Another great aspect of this book is that the author writes in an easy-to-understand manner. Her diction is commendable, and she doesn't use fancy grammatical words that seem to confuse young readers. This makes the book suitable for a vast audience of English speakers. 

As for editorial efforts, this book stands out as it doesn't contain any form of grammatical error on its pages. The author did a good job of ensuring that her work was perfectly edited, and such a feat would speak volumes about her quality as an author.

I found nothing to dislike about In Plain Sight: 2022 by Susan Mallett, and I enjoyed reading the news. It had a lot, and even though there was old news, I was still able to learn something from the book. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars for its ability to entertain and educate, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading old newspapers.
