Did any other character relationship stand out to you?Katie Canedy wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 00:24 I agree that this book belongs in the suspense/action genre. Sure, it does have romantic parts to it, but I found the action to be present more than the romance.

Although I have not read the novel, I noticed that in some novels where the characters are already married, their romantic connection isn't always as intense as stories with budding relationships.AntonelaMaria wrote: ↑01 Dec 2019, 11:11 How do you feel about romance and relationships in this book? Would you categorize this book as a romance novel? What relationship was the most interesting one?
I wouldn't put this book in a romance genre. Maybe suspense/action. There was hardly any romance in it. Except for Kelly and Tom being married, and the possible relationship between Sharon and Steve. Speaking of Tom and Kelly's marriage I didn't feel the connection between them. I did love the relationship Kelly had with her brother Mike. I think that was my favorite relationship in the book.

I also felt, when Tom made a comment about Kelly ( in chapter 9) about why did he wait for finally be married after she serves him all night and then coffee in the morning, very off-putting about him and their relationship in general. I don't know but that just bothered me.Julie Petitbon wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 11:13 I think this is more of a suspense/action genre than romance. Tom and Kelly lacked the spark that I expected, considering they are newly married. I felt like their connection was missing something. I like Sharon and Steve. They seemed to have more of a connection than Tom and Kelly.

You have a good point. But I was thinking more in terms of this not being particularly romance novel despite their connection or marriage.Moray_001 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 11:24Although I have not read the novel, I noticed that in some novels where the characters are already married, their romantic connection isn't always as intense as stories with budding relationships.AntonelaMaria wrote: ↑01 Dec 2019, 11:11 How do you feel about romance and relationships in this book? I am not for erotic romance, or anything like that so I mistakenly passed on this book. But, with your comment I am intrigued again. I look forward to reading about their teamwork, and the newlyweds. Thanks.jeminah28 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2019, 20:11 My assessment is the book tackles more on the relationship towards their team than with a romance. I like the way the author presented the bond between the newlyweds in the book. It is up to the reader to think that the couples romantic life is already sugarcoated with the word 'honeymoon.'

So many projects…so little time.

I was really hoping to see how the events impacted the new marriage of Tom and Kelly and I didn't get any of that. They had no development in their relationship, and I agree that it was super flat.Reynaa wrote: ↑01 Dec 2019, 14:50 I agree, Tom and Kelly's relationship seemed a bit flat. I think there is just too much going on with the rest of the story so their relationship isn't well developed.
I liked Sharon and Steve's relationship, there wasn't much to it but that makes more sense because it was a new relationship. I love their banter and wit, though.

They really did not have the relationship of newlyweds. It was rather strange. It also didn't seem to be impacted by all the action going on.Juliet+1 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 16:06 I vote with the majority. This is definitely not a romance. Tom and Kelly may be on their honeymoon, but they act as though they've been married for 20 years. On the other hand, it seems like a good solid marriage, and they get along well. Nothing wrong with that.

Sharon and Steve were more interesting, relationship-wise. I feel like Tom and Kelly being on their honeymoon was just a convenient plot device more than anything.Julie Petitbon wrote: ↑03 Dec 2019, 11:13 I think this is more of a suspense/action genre than romance.
