Very well said, kandscreeley! I really was surprised at the intense graphic nature of the book- especially after reading the entire description. Definitely did not foresee the amped up grotesque factor or the constant assault of vulgar language. Thank you, as always, for your very thoughtful comments!kandscreeley wrote: ↑20 May 2019, 14:07 Wow. I'm left a bit speechless by this one. It's definitely not a book for me; I'm wondering if anyone would truly enjoy it. It sounds quite morbid, and I have a feeling I know what excremental kinetics entails (but I will NOT be searching it). Thanks, but this is a hard pass for me.

Smart call, Sarah! Thank you so much for reading my review and for your comments.sarahmarlowe wrote: ↑20 May 2019, 17:04Yikes! I will pass on this one, but thank you for such a thorough review!I can only recommend this book (in its current form) to readers exceptionally fond of satire and not offended by consistent coarse language, grotesque and graphic descriptions and occasional racial slurs.

Actually, nooregano, I did get the impression that the intense profanity was not only for shock value, but also that the author subscribed to the "more is more" theory. It was too much. Thank you so much for reading my review and for posting your thoughts.nooregano wrote: ↑21 May 2019, 01:14 I like it when satire is unabashed, but I begin to dislike it when it begins to seem like all of its profanity is being done for a "shock factor." Did you get that feeling from the book, Bluebird03? Thank you for this review, it was thorough and very even-handed.

You nailed it, Prisallen, interesting but grotesque. Too much for me. Thank you so much for reading my review and for your thoughtful comments.

Yes, grotesqueness definitely works for this one. (And if it isn't a word, it should be!). Thank you so much, Niski, for reading my review and for your comments!Niski wrote: ↑22 May 2019, 00:33 This one doesn't sound like a book to sit back and enjoy. I'm not the biggest fan of course language and grotesqueness (is that a word??) for the sake of it. If it adds value to the story, then maybe, but this one sounds like it was just because.
I really enjoyed your review - thanks so much!

Yes, it was quite disturbing. I think I would have enjoyed the story much more without Mopsa also. Thank you so much for your kind comments and for reading my review!Hiruni Bhagya 81 wrote: ↑24 May 2019, 15:41 Though I wouldn't mind reading about Mike and Holly's relationship, this sounds too disturbing for my liking. If Mopsa and her psychotic behavior wasn't there, I'd have read it. So, thanks for the wonderful review on this tale of love and revenge.
