Review by Rareorchid -- Provoked To Anger
[Following is a volunteer review of "Provoked To Anger" by Cheray Gardison.]
Provoked to Anger by Cheray Gardison, is a story about two young adults Marissa and Jeremey, who are in high school and struggling growing up. The story shows the importance of good parenting on children as it impacts highly on their behavior and personality. The story outlines the impact verbal, sexual and physically abuse in homes and families. It shows the impact of a family unit which has both parents, on children this was seen in Jeremy’s friend’s family.
The story shows the impact of good religion on life and death of young people. It shows how religion can shape the individual characters of people and the choices they make. The tragic event in Jeremy’s life led him to canceling by a religious councilor, it shows how religion can shape the character of an individual and transform negative traits to positive traits. The story shows how human interaction can be changed for the better by following the teachings of religion, Jeremy is seen in improving his relations with his mother and influencing others such as Marissa to forgive and improve their attitudes towards others such as her mother, whom she believed had hurt her so much emotionally and physically.
The story outlines the impact of child sexual abuse and the impact mentally and physically of young girls being forced into the illegal sex industry. It shows how tirelessly the police work to rescue victims from this industry and how there are centers for rehabilitation to help victims.
I like that that the story gives hope to young adults that have been victims of illegal sex industry and abuse at home, that is verbal, physical and sexual abuse, the story shows how an individual can be rehabilitated and up living a normal life. I dislike that the story quickly ended, and hope read more books from the same author.
The story is appealing to young adults and parents. It helps parents in realizing the things that they take for granted, emotional issues such those that affected Jeremy and led him to disaster, Marissa’s mother took the safety of her daughter not seriously leading to grow up being sexually abused by her partners and boyfriends without noticing it. For young people it shows the importance of following good religion to help in fighting the pressures of growing up and avoid bad behaviors such as drug abuse, physical violence and immoral sexual behavior. The story can be read by adults as well as young people and does not have explicit sexual scenes. The title of the story Provoked to Anger is a title which fits the story and I rate the story 4 out 4 stars because of its invaluable educational content for both parents and children.
