I agree with you about the characters being a lot but each one of them had a vital role to play.I believe that each of us have our ability to make our own choices than living under the shadows of another person's influence.
It is easy to determine the outcome of events through conversations and I think that that was pathetic,because Patterson had nothing to think about than just relying or focusing on the scene and events.
