Your review of the book is very convincing, I haven't read any sci-fi in a long time. I may give this one a go.

I like the story line about aliens and humans mingling together and eventually saving the earth.
I agree with you about the characters being a lot but each one of them had a vital role to play.I believe that each of us have our ability to make our own choices than living under the shadows of another person's influence.
It is easy to determine the outcome of events through conversations and I think that that was pathetic,because Patterson had nothing to think about than just relying or focusing on the scene and events.

Lovely review! This sounds like a book that I would enjoy. Also, I think that "humien" might be my new favorite word! I like it! :lol:
