Nice! The review gave a honest assessment of the book pointing out the areas for improvement as well as the strengths. Although a science-fiction, the subject of paranormal is not exactly what I would love. But I love magic and fantasy. I know that there are reports that parapsychology is real (I do not know the truth of this claim). Thus, whether the book intermixed parapsychology and magic and treat both as the same thing, I believe I would not care. I perhaps would just classify the story as magic and not a science-fiction. I hope the book will cover by way of the story the truth about parapsychology.The review honestly pointed out that the story has a satisfactory plot but only makes an "averagely interesting read". It has selective character development and with unresolved sub-plots. I really do not know now. The review says the characters were pushed to the depths of parapsychology. Can the story-events erase, in effect, the negatives mentioned in the review? While I like my protagonist to be almost a perfect hero, I would also wanted him to be normal and still be a mortal. Will the resulting prolonged build-up because my protagonist did not do right away what is expected affect my appreciation? Something tells me I would like to give it a try inspite of these negatives. I hope I am not mistaken. But perhaps it may not matter. I like the occurrences of magic.

Thanks for the great review. I'm generally interested in paranormal stories out of curiosity and fear of the unknown. I'm intrigued by the author's use of parapsychology, which is new to me. I guess I'll know more by reading this book. There's also the elements of the characters which may be necessary to explore, including gullibility and self discovery. I'd definitely make a date to read this book.
