"Agatha the Beloved Queen" by Fred Pilcher tells the story of a royal noticing the disparity between rich and poor people and she sets about correcting this problem. I find that interesting and think it would be a great book to read and, perhaps, learn leadership skills from.

I am fascinated with the character of Agatha the Queen of Xara. She was clearly a woman of particular values and standards, wearing common clothes rather than dressing like an aristocrat. She believed that everyone should have enough money to live comfortably and like others who've commented, I'm curious how she accomplished this. Clearly this character was a skillful leader of the people of Xara and made a huge impact on their lives. I would say I want to read it, but I'm not a fan of fantasy.
