This sounds like a book I would enjoy. Especially since it has a lot of action. Although I'm not so sure since it doesn't have a lot of details, but I might just try it. Thanks for the forewarning about the details.

Similar to Game of Thrones in terms of gore and implied/threatened sexual assault-I think I will pass on this book. Thanks for the review.

The triad does remind one of Harry Potter. Will this series be as popular?

Thanks, Cataclysmic Knight, for another winning review!

234 pages is really a little too short to really build a fantasy nicely. I agree with you there. Apart from that mages, magic and a secret order are quitr the recipe for a good fantasy novel for me! I dont know how id feel about the potentially being raped and tortured.. bt im willing to try it so thank you for a great review ;)

Thanks for the review. Detail can be very important in a book and if an author is trying to stay in a certain page limit, then unfortunately details can be omitted that should have been there. From the description of the book and your review, this definitely doesn't seem like a book for non-mature readers.

It certainly sounds like an epic adventure. You definitely sold it with the Harry Potter, game of thrones comparison.

You make this book sound very interesting. I love epic fantasy and I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, so this novel seems pretty perfect for me. I have a lot on my plate right now to read something this long but I'll certainly keep it on my "to read" list. Thank you for the helpful and insightful review.

Brimstone sounds as a very relatable character. I think we all have felt the desire to achieve a goal even if we have to take extreme measures such as undergoing a trial by combat. I think there are a lot of good points in this book that make it alluring. Too bad the author didn't provide many details. Perhaps he will do it in the sequel. Thanks for this fantastic review!

This book sounds awesome. Harry potter is one of my favourites (Don't understand why I can't add it to my 4 star bookshelf) and this very similar. I look forward to reading it and hopefully the whole series too.

Great review. This sounds like an interesting read. A cross between Harry Potter and Game of Thrones sounds full of magic, action, and excitement.

Nice review although the responsibilities placed on the young characters are a little too much.
