Most mild levels of stress can be solved by either channeling them into something positive or simply by natural remedies like meditation or breathing exercises. Only in case, the stress levels reach high levels, I think the medication route should be considered. Also, for those cases still, herbal medicine should be more preferable than sythetic drugs you may get addicted to.miatyae wrote: ↑24 Aug 2020, 12:10 I think that while natural options can certainly help with anxiety, it cannot cure it alone. It's the same theory as "you can take a walk to get your mind off your depression but taking walks cannot cure your depression." At the end of the day, anxiety is a mental disorder which means that a chemical imbalance is the root of the problem. Traditional medication can help even out the chemicals in your brain, making them much more efficient. However, meditation and yoga or any other natural way to cope with anxiety should be paired with medication because they are still important.![]()

Yes, true. Natural remedies should be part of the regular lifestyle. In case medication becomes mandatory, do you think herbal remedies can be a better solution rather than other medications. Both can have side-effects and herbal meds can be tricky as well. But do you consider herbal preferable than other drugs?Aishwarya Chhabra wrote: ↑24 Aug 2020, 14:06 I really appreciate the content of the book. Undoubtedly everybody should prefer meditation and natural methods to not only relieve their stress and anxiety but also dwell on it on a regular basis. But sometimes the harm done by our stress levels is too big to be ignored that it becomes mandatory to use medications . A really great approach by the author of the book. Deserving to be the BOTM

However, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve developed a few chronic conditions, to the point of almost not being functional without medications, so they’ve become somewhat of a “necessary evil”.
I always try a natural remedy first, but if that just does seem to help- then I (reluctantly) take the prescriptions. For routine ailments, I truly believe natural treatments are the way to go. But for serious and/or chronic conditions, I believe we sometimes need to look to the mainstay medical establishment.

She went into remission (and has stayed there, thankfully), according to her, because she combined the natural remedies with her conventional treatment.
In my opinion, however, I always feel like there must be a natural connection to every form of remedy we administer to our bodies because then, there will be a balance that is accounted for.
I have a background in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry and I have grown to understand that even though some of the compounds that are synthesized in all forms of drugs and conventional medical treatments occur naturally in nature, there is no limit to how much they can be tweaked to yield completely new compounds (that are now non-natural).
With this view, I believe combining natural remedies with other traditional medical drugs and treatments is a must to maintain balance; the kind of balance that can ensure longevity of the human body.
