Re: Official Review: A Brush with Death by Jody Summers
'A painter living in New Orleans who is struggling with her mother’s death decides to honor her mother by mixing her mother’s ashes with paint in order to create a beautiful painting. Thus, she stumbles upon her new business. Things take a dark turn when she meets Sean and starts to commemorate his father’s life. Terrible visions and nightmares lead her to believe that she is painting the portrait of a serial killer. The novel makes liberal use of foreshadowing to keep the reader hooked.'

A Brush with Death" by Jody Summer is a thriller that begins with the story of Kira, a painter living in New Orleans who, in trying to cope with her mother’s death, started a new campaign in her business that she called 'Canvas of Life.' Unfortunately for Kira, this sent her into an altered state where she relives significant moments from the life of the deceased.
I'm already intrigued, and although I'm not too fond of all things horror, I'm sorely curious to read this one. Nah! I don't think so. The review would be it for me in satisfying that curiosity.

Kira appearing on assignments brings in the horror when she transforms into a beautiful woman. Sitting down one day to paint, she accidentally brushes against the ashes and finds out they are ashes of a serial killer and with each stroke of the brush, she is fettered with vision of his crime. The dividing line between the reality and the painting starts to become obscured as the evil spirit which possessed the painting starts to take a stronger form & possess Kira.
This book is perfect for those, who like such TV-Shows as Supernatural or are interested in the notes of horror in the style of Stephen King. There’s nothing overly complicated or complex about it, it’s a relatively short story, and yet one that I think will have you on the edge of your seat right until the final chapters. What’s special, is a hint of romance that is sure to spike the interest of the viewers.
