It's nice to start reading Jody Summers's *A Brush with Death* after a breakfast with coffee because it would seem like a wonderful journey:
'A painter living in New Orleans who is struggling with her mother’s death decides to honor her mother by mixing her mother’s ashes with paint in order to create a beautiful painting. Thus, she stumbles upon her new business. Things take a dark turn when she meets Sean and starts to commemorate his father’s life. Terrible visions and nightmares lead her to believe that she is painting the portrait of a serial killer. The novel makes liberal use of foreshadowing to keep the reader hooked.'

I have gone into a few pages so far and the writing is so smooth. Your upfront review -which is well-written, by the way-is a helpful needed preview, since I am not into horror stories. Thank you.

It looks like an intriguing book with themes of horror, romance and crime. While I am interested in how the paintings uncover a serial killer, I am also not a fan of horror so I may skip the book for now. Thank you for your review.

Brushes with death are often a daily occurrence. These vary from little things such as a slip in the bathtub to terminal illnesses.
A Brush with Death" by Jody Summer is a thriller that begins with the story of Kira, a painter living in New Orleans who, in trying to cope with her mother’s death, started a new campaign in her business that she called 'Canvas of Life.' Unfortunately for Kira, this sent her into an altered state where she relives significant moments from the life of the deceased.
I'm already intrigued, and although I'm not too fond of all things horror, I'm sorely curious to read this one. Nah! I don't think so. The review would be it for me in satisfying that curiosity.

'A Brush with Death' by Jody Summers sounds intriguing! The unique premise of mixing ashes with paint to relive the deceased's memories is both haunting and fascinating. I'm curious to see how Kira's journey unfolds, especially the twist with the serial killer. Congrats on BOTD!

The plot of this novel is reminiscent of a 90's thriller-mystery movie. I'm' intrigued by these premonitions that Kira is having and why the soul of Sean's father is dark and evil. Guess I'll have to get the book to follow along with the story. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

Thank you for your honest review. I agree that the author's writing is good, but I don't enjoy horror stories. It is a unique plot and I hope others who enjoy horror stories will enjoy reading this story.

This novel can be described as a kind of art and serial killing where there is some sort of love interests as well. The main character of the show is a woman named Kira McGovern, who is an artist from New Orleans and she has a peculiar technique: she paints with ashes. Hold on a second, gentlemen for a moment you will find it quite bizarre, will you not? It is actually, but I think in this case, Summers builds an interesting concept around that and makes the story thrilling and sort of eerie.

Kira appearing on assignments brings in the horror when she transforms into a beautiful woman. Sitting down one day to paint, she accidentally brushes against the ashes and finds out they are ashes of a serial killer and with each stroke of the brush, she is fettered with vision of his crime. The dividing line between the reality and the painting starts to become obscured as the evil spirit which possessed the painting starts to take a stronger form & possess Kira.

This book is perfect for those, who like such TV-Shows as Supernatural or are interested in the notes of horror in the style of Stephen King. There’s nothing overly complicated or complex about it, it’s a relatively short story, and yet one that I think will have you on the edge of your seat right until the final chapters. What’s special, is a hint of romance that is sure to spike the interest of the viewers.

The review offered valuable insights. The plot appears captivating, particularly with Kira's unique painting concept and the emotions she experiences. The painting for Sean adds an additional layer of intrigue and horror to the story. I'm eager to dive into this book.
