The pacing of the story was perfect. The events all fell into place in an orderly fashion. I loved how there are multiple cases in the story. Gradually, we get to understand Parker as a character and how his past affects his present. Many books usually dismiss the consequences of a character; however, the author understood there are consequences when a cop uses deadly force. I appreciated this matter was acknowledged. I was interested in Parker’s backstory and, I am interested in reading the next book to try and find out more about him.

I think this is so important! In most of the crime thrillers I've read, the cop who goes rogue is the hero, when in real life there are rules in place to protect everyone involved, even the cops themselves. This adds a new level of realism to the story.

I haven't read a single book on the crime thriller. If it was up to me, I wouldn't have read one. But thanks for writing such a clear review, now I want to know how Nick and Reggie will solve the cases that came along with Samuel and Ezzikel case. And undoubtedly, I would like to learn the backstory of Nick as well.

His character is very well developed and the reader feels empathy for him. He ends up with a partner and together they solve cases. But his old life comes back as he metes out heavy justice.
