If you've ever lost someone—friend or family—om the operating table or shortly after due to a botched surgery, this thriller may not give you much thrill. However, it does sound like a really well-written story with enough suspense and mystery to keep one reading. This is probably a bigger picture book about the failings of the health system; Dr. Webb, Dr. Roth, and Dr. Kirkland are just utilized to paint a picture of that reality.

t's an interesting thriller to be honest.
My first impression is on the description of characters and not forgeting the demographic surroundings, well detailed..
I love the fact that the review leaves you with so much curiosity on whether Dr Roxanne deliberately killed her patients or not.. it's definitely a good strategy to use to make people to read your content.

Emergence by Shira Shiloan is one of the best thriller novels that i have read so far. A very gripping, suspenseful thriller which will leave you with a different outlook on what surgeons are capable of.
I loved the character of Dr. Roxanne Roth as she was hardworking anaesthesiologist who is healing day by day from the loss of her fiancé. Roth is a very courageous, caring and compassionate character. On the other hand, Dr. D.K. Webb is a twisted, cunning and sinister sociopath whose narrative I really enjoyed reading from. I found myself on the edge of my seat wanting to find out what he was capable of doing next.

I really thought this was a great book! I'm glad so many of you also enjoyed it. I personally love medically accurate storylines so when they described the minute details right down to the medicine she was using, I knew I would be hooked. I'm not sure if I would say this book is scary to me. I might even go so far as to say I don't think it's a thriller either. What Dr. Webb does to people is horrifying of course but I wasn't a nervous wreck while reading. Such an interesting read. I had it finished in a little over a day!
