I feel for people taking these drugs for pain relief, like Shannon. There is a fine line between taking enough to get relief and enough to become addicted. Congratulations on BOTD!

A good review, thank you.
I agree with you that this book does sound so much like real-life situations.
I feel that pain medication is very addictive, and the lack of control around it is very damaging to people and their effectiveness in life.
This is a critical topic. Congratulations to the author for bringing to the fore through this story of Chris, Shannon, Casey, Maria, and the Pharmaceutical company.

Nice review! While I don’t know if the prosecution was a success or not (yet!), I do know that going up against a pharmaceutical company is no walk in the park, and that’s putting it lightly. However, will that stop me from hoping that justice is served? Absolutely not!
I really liked this book because it had the feel of a true story while also reminding me of scenes I've seen in movies. It was as if I were watching a movie, but this time, it was playing in my mind, and I was piecing together the images.
I agree. The first thing that came to mind when reading the synopsis was Dark Waters, a movie (based on a true story) with a similar plot setup.

:D K.C. Gilbert delves into vices of drug addiction exemplified by Shannon as well as impunity by the pharmaceutical companies. In The Prescription, Societal norms have been infringed, whose solution can only be traced through legal arbitration. This evokes the authenticity of the manufacturers dealings.

The review has authenticated the book appropriately. The book rates at 5 out of 5 due to its evocation of the readers feelings, hence a good read. :techie-reference:

This review is well-written and easy to read. it is clear and to the point. Congratulations, Susan John Peter. Your review has piqued my interest in this book. I am curious about the author's perception on the pharmaceutical industry as it relates to addictive pain-killers and social responsibility. According to your review, this fiction novel fits the bill. I am adding this book to my bookshelves. :techie-studyinggray:

The prescription seems like a really nice book since it talks about drugs and how it affects individuals and how to some point the pharmaceuticals are to be blamed for the addictions some individuals suffer from.

The review provided a wealth of information. The plot appears to be quite unique, centering on the theme of painkiller addiction. I'm intrigued to explore further and discover Shannon's fate, as well as whether Chris was able to assist her in any capacity.

I'm not really interested in books around legal matters and the pharmaceutical industry, but I read many novels that created movies in my head, much like the review mentioned. The writing in those novels was usually exceptional, so I believe this book might be as well.
