I am the opposite. I am one of those people that covers my eyes or jumps during parts of a scary movie or TV show. Scary books, on the other hand, don't scare me as much....with the exception of The Amityville Horror! I read that book and then took it out of my house and threw it out in a trash can. I wouldn't even throw it in our outside trash can because I didn't want the book physically anywhere near me.literarycat wrote:I think books can have the terror, creepy factor easier than movies, video games, television because we've been desensitived to actually seeing it, but reading it and imagining it ourselves is different. I love books that elicit the kind of response of being suspended waiting for what comes next. This looks like it would be a good book to add to my collection. Thanks for the great review.

Oh I am the same way. My boyfriend watches The Strain and I hid behind my book. I can't do scary movies do get me but books get me more because I can imagine it more because my mind comes up some twisted images lolbookowlie wrote:I am the opposite. P.s. Wow you really were disturbed by that book. The Shining did that to me when I was younger. I couldn't go to the bathroom without first having someone go and open the door and open up the shower curtain. Haha
@literarycat I loved The Strain! One thing I miss about t.v.
