The law is the backbone of civilization. It is the guarantor of life and liberty itself. It is tasked with both protection and punishment. The system of law and justice works on the principle of innocence until proven guilty, and such is the predicament of Dayton, who is charged with murdering his sole family, his grandma.

The Tropical Scandal is an absolutely invigorating legal thriller that traces the journey of Attorney Pancho and his defense of Dayton, the guy charged with murdering his grandma, the one who fed him and kept him away from the wrong side of the tracks. Despite his vehement denial of committing a crime, Dayton is actually unable to defend himself within the methods of the law due to two reasons: first, he is mentally disabled, and second, there is evidence in his home that refutes his claim of innocence.

Is Dayton really innocent? Is his innocence a pretense? Who is the real killer after all? If you're interested in uncovering the face behind the crime, then you must get yourself a copy of the book. The book makes it clear that many innocents suffer before the guilty are charged. It is also true that seeking justice is a twisted quest, and a long one at that.

The book is exceptionally well-written; the characters fit right into their shoes and are well-developed. The readers experience the chase for justice along with Attorney Pancho as he strives to discover the truth. Another admirable trait of the book is the relationship between the attorney and his girlfriend, Dr. Padma. They respect each other and are grounded in their relationship.

The book has no grammatical or editing errors. It is an interesting legal thriller with a number of twists and turns that enthrall the reader. I am rating it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. I liked this book because it is not overlaid with legality and is action-packed as well.
