With the world feeling like it’s on the edge of World War 3, Red Lines really puts things into perspective. James Bultema delivers a gripping military thriller that I see as more or less a wake-up call; it dives into the chaos following a terrorist attack on Independence Hall, an attack that is supposedly somehow linked to Iran. The book follows a mixture of military commanders, spymasters, and politicians as they struggle with the consequences.

It's a breakneck ride loaded with military battles, political shenanigans, and tough choices. Bultema's background as a veteran of the military and a retired LAPD detective lends itself well to a richly developed sense of verisimilitude, and the tale becomes all the more realistic and gut-churning.

Alright, let us get into the real juice of this book. I have to be honest with you; the author was definitely biased when creating Sarah Freeman. And you know what? I am not even mad about it. Because tell me why I love her so much. The book's edting was well-done as I could not find any errors.

Sarah is not just some run of the mill protagonist. She’s got that rare mix of resilience, professionalism, and straight-up badassery that makes her impossible to ignore. She faces challenge after challenge, both in her personal life and on the job, but she handles it all with a kind of grace and determination that is just, well, a chef’s kiss.

There was a showdown with Commander Wagner. The tension peaks when Wagner accuses her of freezing during a mission, questioning her professionalism due to her husband's presence in the same war zone. This dude tries to pull some harassment nonsense, and she shuts it down extremely hard. That scene alone cements her as a force to be reckoned with; it is not just about standing up for herself; it is about refusing to let toxic power plays define her career.

And let’s talk about her skills as a naval aviator, because wow. The way she takes charge during combat, especially when she saves her crew from a missile attack? It was in one word 'Legendary'. She is quick on her feet, sharp as hell, and always looking out for her team. Because of her alone, I could not find anything to dislike about this book and gave it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
