Nero Wolfe series by Rex Stout (1934-1974)

Does anyone read and enjoy the Nero Wolfe books? I've never met Nero Wolfe readers other than my own family, who introduced me to tattered copies of these classics. At that time they were out of print and we wouldn't let anyone borrow our copies. Quite recently, I found them again as e-books and started reading them.

I have read them in my early youth and liked them. I wonder if I like them the second time around.

I think Nero Wolfe mysteries are my mother's favorites. I used to keep track of what she owned in order to buy her what she lacked. She also reads Ellery Queen, Agatha Christie, John Creasey, and a few other heavy hitters.

Too bad the Nero Wolfe television adaptation didn't do so well.

Well Nero Wolfe mysteries were my parents favourite too, that's how I got around to reading them. The television series was a bit of a bore. Novels with a lot of talk and less action usually don't do so well.
