RT - Review of "Les Miserables"

I cannot say enough about this book. It is probably my favorite of anything I've ever read. There is so much happening, so many story lines, that this author could have broken it down into severeal different books. The main character goes through such an amazing character change, starting out as a theif and then a by the time he is a dying old man you really hurt for him and wish his daughter would visit more often.
My favorite story line would have to be Fantine.
She is a young orphaned grisette in Paris who becomes pregnant by a rich student. After he abandons her, she is forced to look after their child, Cosette, on her own. Originally a pretty and naïve girl, Fantine is eventually forced by circumstances to become a prostitute, selling her hair and front teeth, losing her beauty and health. The money she earns is sent to support her daughter. Working, leading a hard life of prostitution, and putting herself in any danger necessary to provide for her daughter, eventually led to her sad death.
A true review on this book would need it's own forum, but there's just a little snippet of one storyline out of so many that I love in "Les Miserables".
