The book sounds extremely heartwarming and poignant. The mother of the author taught them well how to look on the brighter side and how to always be "a human being". But the topics of grief and loss are not my cup of tea; still congratulations on becoming BOTD!

This sounds like a story that has the power to make a shift about how people perceive life situations. It also reminds a very crucial aspect, "care for the ones who brought you into this world while you still have time." You never know what future holds. Beautiful memoir.

Emphysema was diagnosed, and as a nurse, her mother knew all too well what it meant. This read about the grief and the vacuum left behind won't be easy, but will surely have a lesson or two for all readers. Thank you for your great review!

'Despite the challenges, including caring for the youngest child with special needs, I can see they all grew up with a happy childhood filled with love and guidance from their parents.'
A loving and happy childhood is sometimes underrated.

It is interesting to read this book since it is a brief story (66pages) and a great opportunity to feel how Karen expressed her feelings towards the loss of her Mother. I look forward to an emotional tale and celebration of nice memories shared between Karen and her mother.
