She put on resilience as her number one goal, that makes her to overcome the trauma of her ill health ,and her husband played a role of good supportive system, it proves that under any condition or situation love still has a role to play indeed.

“By Accident” by Joanne Greene is a memoir of letting go, a chronology of her recovery and self-discovery. Joanne was hit by a truck while crossing the street and she recovered even stronger. Sadly, after her recovery she received a diagnosis of stage one-colon cancer. She lost her older brother to a stroke and her sister to cancer and this made her diagnosis even more devastating. She did not give up and her story reveals more to the experience than first meets the eye. One needs to read the book to learn more about her journey of survival. A very good review and a beautiful read that can be used as a guide to helping refocus one’s life to be kinder to oneself and prioritize one’s own well-being. Joanne was truly blessed with a wonderful caring husband Fred, who was there for her during her recovery. Having a loving and caring spouse is a dream relationship.

Thank you for the excellent review. I find this book to be highly motivating. It's a reminder that observing others' adversity helps us appreciate the blessings in our own lives. I'm very eager to know how the protagonist tackled the challenges in her life. I'm definitely getting my copy.

Joanne sounds like she's been through more than most of us will ever have to endure, losing both siblings, then having her accident and cancer; it's incredible that she can remain so upbeat. I'm looking forward to reading more of this book. The first chapter has already hooked me, and your review has sealed the deal, so thank you.

This book sounds appealing to me, and even though circumstances may differ, one can surely find it relatable and learn valuable lessons from it.

What further confirms this is that, in light of this self-reflective memoir, the reviewer developed self-compassion as well as joy in simple pleasures.

Lovely review of a deep and meaningful true story. Definitely one to read in its entirety. Very encouraging and inspiring for anyone who wants to read about someone who survives a horrific accident and has a long path to rehabilitation. Positive and insightful fore everyone, in a way, as none of us know what hurdles will befall us in our lives. Interesting choice for BOTD. Loved it.

This sounds like a rollercoaster of a read. I feel really sad about all these horrible events that Joanne had to endure in her life, but it sounds like a really sentimental book so I can’t wait to read it! Thanks for the review!

Thank you for your review. "By Accident: a memoir of letting go" by Joanne Greene seems to be a touching and inspirational memoir. Joanne's story of overcoming trauma and illness, along with her themes of personal growth and self-care, makes this book a valuable read.

Undoubtedly, a succession of tragic circumstances like the one detailed in this book can only be overcome by a strong and powerful lady who nevertheless manages to leave behind a positive message. She is a better person, though, because she feels compelled to share her story and her message with the world in order to assist others.
We live in a fast-paced world where people don't appreciate the present, so I believe that this book is essential to helping people see things more clearly and appreciate what they have. Our society needs more people like this author.

It's very hard to bear the hardships of life while suffering with a disease while you already have encountered with an accident. But these hardships and difficulties of life make us strong.
