- I quite agree. Couples would be better off if they understood these two aspects better, before marriage rather than after. This is also a very useful review. Thank you.Couples neglect this aspect of understanding themselves and also fail to see the importance of their finances in their relationships.

The book is structured to help couples foster a deeper emotional connection and mutual respect. Oyama delves into topics such as effective communication, trust-building, and maintaining intimacy, all while highlighting the spiritual dimensions of a strong marital bond. Her writing style is engaging and relatable, making complex concepts easy to understand and apply in daily life.
One of the book's strengths is its use of personal anecdotes, which adds authenticity and relatability to the advice given. Oyama's emphasis on the importance of nurturing friendship as the core of a lasting marriage sets this book apart from other relationship guides. Readers appreciate the blend of heartfelt wisdom and practical strategies, which cater to both new and long-term couples seeking to improve their relationship dynamics.
Overall, "My Spouse My Friend" is a valuable resource for anyone looking to deepen their marital relationship through enhanced friendship and understanding. It's a must-read for couples who want to build a resilient and loving partnership that can withstand the test of time.

I know the World would have folks believe otherwise, but I firmly believe that marriage is beautiful, especially if you meet that one person who shares the same values on marriage and is willing to work it out with you when it gets tough. Unfortunately, since abuse is inevitable when the use of a thing is not known, the concept of marriage and the core family unit have been threatened by significant ignorance of the original intent of marriage. I think I will try reading this book despite the lapse pointed out.
